Finavia, Finnair make mask-use must for employees, passengers

The Finnish airports operator Finavia and the national flag carrier Finnair on Tuesday announced a rule for their employees and passengers with the provision for mandatory use of face masks.

Finavia urged all employees working with the public to wear face masks, and strongly recommended that the passengers should use face masks while passing through airports, said a Finavia press release.

Finnair requires its staff and passengers to wear face masks compulsorily to protect from droplet infections.

Finavia also have asked all customer service points to use transparent protective plastic barriers. It has made it obligatory for all customer service employees to use mouth-nose protectors and recommended that passengers should wear face masks. In addition, a batch of protectors is available for passengers, said Finavia.

Passengers are reminded to keep a safe distance with tape markings and instructions of the authorities.

Airport buses only transport 50% of the normal number of passengers. Until further notice, domestic and international passengers will have separate routes At Helsinki Airport.

Hand-sanitizer is available at customer service points and security control. Information about hand hygiene is distributed to passengers inside the terminals and for employees via internal channels.
