Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain said Tuesday that Neymar will return to training on Wednesday as scheduled for on-pitch tests.

Neymar injured his right foot in a French Cup match on January 23, and has been sidelined since then. The club intially expected 10-week recovery for the Brazilian star.

"Neymar's recovery from injury is progressing well and he will return to training on Wednesday as scheduled for on-pitch tests," PSG said in a statement.

The club added that specialists will carry out a full medical and radiological assessment in two weeks' time.

Neymar missed both legs in UEFA Champions League last 16 against Manchester United. The French champions squandered a 2-0 lead after the first leg to falter at the same stage for the third straight season.

PSG will host Nantes in Wednesday's French Cup semifinals. Should PSG adavance, they hope that Neymar can make a return prior to the tournament final at the Stade de France on April 27.
