Real Madrid will be without Spain international defender Nacho Fernandez for two months and central midfielder Casemiro for around 6 weeks, the club confirmed on Monday.

Both players were injured during the 4-2 win away to Celta Vigo on Sunday night and underwent tests back in Madrid on Monday morning.

The tests showed Casemiro has "a sprained ankle which has also affected the syndesmosis ligament," while Nacho has "sprained the internal ligament of his right knee."

Both players will thus be unable to play for their countries in the forthcoming international break and they will miss their side's last two Champions League group matches, as well as at least three Liga Santander matches.

They are also a serious doubt for the World Club Championships which will be held in the United Arab Emirates between December 12th and 22nd.

Meanwhile Spanish TV network 'La Sexta' reported on Monday that the club is preparing to offer interim coach Santiago Solari a contract until the end of June 2020 after he has led the side to four wins in four games since replacing the sacked Julen Lopetegui a fortnight ago.
