Goals in WC qualifiers bless Pukki´s birthday

Legendary Striker of Finnish national football team Teemu Eino Antero Pukki on Monday celebrated his 31st birthday with extra happiness and joy as he scored three goals for the country in the first two world cup qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ukraine.

Pukki, who equalised the score 1-1 with Ukraine on Sunday night and 2-2 with Bosnia and Herzegovina on 24 March, talked to journalists in a video conference on Monday afternoon, when he shared his feeings as the performance is getting better as he is getting older.

He scored his 30th goal on the eve of his birthday and became the second highest scorer for the country, just two goals behind of Jari Olavi Litmanen, who scored 32 goals.

“I prefer to celebrate the birthday with my family and later with my teammates,” said Pukki at the press conference, adding that he had already celebrated the birthday with the teammates this year on way to exercise.

He focused the team success in the first two matches of the world cup qualifying round and said Finland is now a tougher team compared to the past.

Pukki, who plays for the Norwich City in the English League also became the second higest scorer there with 22 goals.
