Finland ice hockey junior team outclassed rivals Sweden on Saturday to advance to the 2021 World Junior semi-finals with a dramatic 3-2 win in Edmonton, Canada.

According to the IIHF bulletin, Roni Hirvonen scored a third-period winner with only 25 seconds left, sending Finns into a wild celebration.

Hirvonen’s second goal of the match secured the win for the Finns. Finland had been trailing 2-0 after the first period.

“I think we had good pressure in the last minute,” said Hirvonen. “We had a chance right before. I just continued that pressure with a good scramble, and it went in. So it was just great.”

Henri Nikkanen and Anton Lundell also scored for Finland.

Finland will take on the US on Monday in the semis. The US defeated Slovakia 5-2 in the quarter-final.
