China-Finland Winter Sports Year closes in Rovaniemi

China-Finland Year of Winter Sports Closing Ceremony will be held at Lappi Areena in Rovaniemi on Tuesday, said a press release issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Deputy Speaker of Parliament Tuula Haatainen, Minister of Science and Culture Hanna Kosonen and Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China Sun Chunlan will attend the celebrations.
The closing ceremony will bring together sports and the arts. At Lappi Areena, spectators will see a dragon and lion dance on ice, skating and skiing performances by both countries’ athletes, and musical performances by singers from the Chinese National Opera, members of YL Male Voice Choir and Solju, a Saami ensemble fusing many musical influences.
Minister of Science and Culture Hanna Kosonen and Chinese Vice Minister for Sports Gao Zhidan will talk to the media on Monday from 18.00 to 18.30 at Lappia Hall.
At the media event, ministers will report on the results of the Year of Sports and on further plans for collaboration.
On Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Antti Rinne and Chinese Vice Premier Sun Chunlan will hold bilateral talks in Kesäranta. Sun Chunlan will also meet President Sauli Niinistö in Mäntyniemi on Wednesday.
China and Finland opened the 2019 China-Finland Year of Winter Sports on January 15 in Beijing.
