Germany prevailed over France 4-1 on Tuesday night at the Ice Hockey World Championship in Slovakia. Yet to be defeated, Germany now lead Group A with three consecutive wins.

Germany's Mathias Plachta broke the 1-1 tie in the second period with a hard one-timer from the blue line and Leon Draisaitl stretched the lead to 3-1 soon after with a shot from close range to push his team over the edge.

Korbinian Holzer's empty-netter cemented the win at 4-1, and Germany is now the only team with three wins in Group A.

Germany will face off against the hosts Slovakia on Wednesday and bottom-placed France will have to withstand the offensive might of Canada the day after.
