3 teenage boys killed in road mishap in Kalajoki

Three teenage boys were killed and another was injured in a road accident at Kalajoki area near Kokkola on Saturday, said a police press release.

Police and local media said that the accident took place when a speeding private car skidded off and fell into roadside ditch.

The driver and two passengers were killed on the spot while the rest passenger was injured critically. The injured boy was admitted to Oulu University Hospital.

All the people onboard were born in 2000s, national broadcaster Yle reported quoting police saying that the driver was 18 years old, while the three passengers were underage.

The deceased driver and one of the deceased passengers were brothers.

The speed of the car was about 150 kilometers per hour, although the maximum speed of the road was 100 km/h.

The reason behind the accident could not be known immediately and the investigation in this regard was going on.
