Two brothers in their early fifties were killed when they were reportedly struck by a lightning at Juukain in North Karelia on Friday night.

The brothers aged 50 and 53 years came to spend holiday in a cottage. They died being electrocuted by a lightning on their way to a sauna, said the police in a press release.

Sensing the lightning attack, the sister of the victims came outside after a short while and called ambulance, but the medical team found them dead.

The police suspect a lightning that struck a nearby tree might have caused the deaths.

The police are investigating the reason behind the deaths, although the law enforcers are not suspecting any crime related to the incident.
