The main opposition Suomen sosialidemokraattinen puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) is going to table an interpellation in parliament on “the deteriorating employment situation of the youth people”, reported the national broadcaster Yle.

SDP has published a post on the plan on its Facebook page.

The government about a week and a half ago announced that it would allow an employer to seal fixed-term employment contracts, without any restrictions, with anyone aged below 30, who has been unemployed and seeking a job for at least three months.

During a debate in parliament on Tuesday, SDP Chair Antti Rinne criticised the government on this issue.

The SDP Facebook page also includes a short video in which the party’s parliamentary group chair Antti Lindtman discusses with Mila Kangasniemi, a young man of 24, the issue of the weakening job situation currently being faced by the young people in the country.
