1 killed in road mishap in Rautjärvi

One person was killed in a road mishap at Rautjärvi area in South Karelia on Wednesday.

Police said that the accident took place when speeding car skidded off and fell into a roadside lake.

Responding to a call rescue service personnel and people rushed to spot and recovered the body of the driver, who was alone in the car from Mäntylampi lake.

Details about the accident and the victim could not be known immediately.

Members of the law enforcing agency, however, did not suspect any crime link to the incident at the initial stage of the investigation.

The police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the case.
