The Helsinki District Court on Wednesday sentenced two teenage boys to different terms of imprisonment for stabbing an 18-year-old man to death, assisting the murder and robbery at Vallila in Helsinki in October last year.

Another suspect of the murder, however, was not charged as he was 14 years old at the time of murder. According to Finnish Law, persons under 15 years of age are not liable for criminal activities.

The court sentenced the 16-year-old mastermind of the killing to nine years and four months of imprisonment as the allegations of murder and robbery brought against him were proved beyond doubt.

The court also sentenced another 16-year-old boy to four years and six months of imprisonment for assisting the main criminal in the murder and the robbery.

The victim was stabbed to death by the three teenage boys in Vallila area of Helsinki on 31 October 2020.

The incident took place at about 1:00 AM when the convicts stabbed the person in front of Alepa store at the intersection of Mäkelänkatu and Päijänteentie.
