14 killed in road mishaps in September

A total of 14 people were killed and 403 others injured in 333 road accidents in the country in September, according to the Statistics Finland.

The number of deaths was 10 lower and the number of injured was 70 lower than that in September 2019.

Of the persons who were killed, nine travelled by private car, one by van and one by moped. Cyclists killed in road traffic accidents numbered two. In addition, one road user was killed. Among those who died, 13 were men and one woman.

Meanwhile, a total of 166 people were killed and 3,341 other injured in 2,710 road traffic accidents in January to September.

The number of persons killed was two less than and the number of persons injured was 467 less than the corresponding figures in the corresponding period of 2019.

Of the persons who were killed, 98 travelled by passenger car, eight by van, two by moped, 15 by motorcycle and two by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered 15 and cyclists 18. In addition, eight other road users were killed.
