101 killed in road mishaps in H1

A total of 101 people were killed and 1,969 others injured in 1,600 road accidents in the country in the first six months of this year, according the Statistics Finland.
The number of persons killed was two more and that of persons injured 289 less than that in the stipulated period of 2019.
Of the persons who were killed, 60 were travelling by private cars, six by vans, six by motorcycles, and two by lorry. The number of pedestrians killed was 11 and cyclists 11. In addition, five other road users were killed.
In the last month, 19 people were killed and 458 others injured in 364 road accidents across the country.
The number of persons killed was five less and that of persons injured 46 less than that in June 2019.
Of the persons who were killed, 10 were travelling by private cars, two by van and three by motorcycle.
Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered one and cyclists three.
Among those who died, 16 were men and three were women.
