The government has allocated an additional financing of EUR 500,000 to support domestic travel and tourism as part of the measures to recover from the COVID-19 crisis, said a government press release.

The financing will be used to implement a national domestic tourism campaign in connection with the ongoing ‘100 reasons to travel in Finland’ campaign by the Finnish Association of Tourism Organisations Suoma ry.

The campaign aims to draw attention to the products and services provided by Finnish tourism companies, to help companies recover from the coronavirus crisis, and to extend the domestic tourism season well into the autumn months. The 100syyta.fi campaign website coordinated by Suoma ry was launched at the beginning of May, while extensive advertising in digital and social media, outdoor platforms and on the radio began in June. The campaign will run until the end of October 2020.

The additional financing will be used to increase the visibility of tourism companies and their products and services with the objective of expanding the campaign to cover a larger number of small and medium-sized tourism companies from all parts of Finland. To this end, all tourism companies serving the domestic travel and tourism sector will be able to participate in the extended campaign for a participation fee of EUR 300 plus VAT.
