Prime Minister Sanna Marin has come down with a cold and went on sick leave on Monday for at least the beginning of the week, said a government press release.

The prime minister was also tested for COVID-19 as a precautionary measure and the result of the test was negative.

The prime minister’s programme for the next few days has been cancelled. Any alternative arrangements will be made on case-by-case basis, the press release added.

Earlier, on April 23, Marin went to self-quarantine after a worker of the PM’s official residence Kesäranta was infected by coronavirus.

That time she was working remotely at the Kesäranta.
