The police will begin publishing regular video reports on the current situation and its developments countrywide to describe the effect of the emergency conditions and the coronavirus situation on police operations, public order and safety, and criminality.

The situation reports will be published on social media channels of the police twice a week – on Mondays and Fridays, said the National Police Board in a press release.

The video reports are intended to provide up-to-date information to both citizens and the media.

The first such video was released on March 20.

In addition, the police have published a video on its social media channels to clarify in plain language the rules regarding the restrictions imposed on public gatherings.

With the emergency conditions in force for just slightly less than one week, it is not yet possible to conduct an in-depth analysis of how the situation influences police assignments.

However, within that week, the police have seen a slight countrywide increase in the number of domestic disturbance calls and a decrease in the number of property crimes compared to the figures recorded in the corresponding week of the previous years.
