Pro threatens to go for strike on Jan 27

The Paper Workers' Union and Industrial Union Pro on Sunday warned that 14,000 of its members will go for a two-week strike at major export corporations on 27 January, if a new contract is not agreed by this time, national broadcaster Yle reported.

Meanwhile the Paper Workers' Union said that 9,000 of its members will go for strike on the same day resulting closure of the paper mills in the country.

All the strike will begin on January 27 midnight and will continue until February 9, if the deal is bot agreed.

The operations of ABB, Metso, Nokia, Outokumpu, Meyer Turku, Patria, Rautaruukki, Valmet and Wärtsilä will be disrupted following the strike.
