Andersson re-elected Vasemmistoliitto leader

The Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance), one of the components of the four-party alliance government on Saturday re-elected Li Andersson as the Chairperson at a party convention in Kuopio.

She has been elected unopposed as there was no other candidate for the post.

The 32 years Andersson has been discharging her duty as the chair of the Vasemmistoliitto since 2016. She is now serving as the Minister of Education in the cabinet of left-center government.

Andersson belongs to the Swedish language minority in Finland. Vasemmistoliitto has 16 seats in the parliament.

The party councilors, however, brought changes to the other posts in the convention in Kuopio.

Jussi Saramo, and Minna Minkkinen have been elected Vice-Chairpersons.
