About two-third of Finnish residents do not know the name of the speaker of national parliament, according to a survey by a Finnish news consortium Lännen Media.

Although majority of the people know the name of the president, Sauli Niinistö, only 31 percent knew Matti Vanhanen as the speaker of the parliament, reported national broadcaster Yle quoting the survey.

The speaker of the parliament formally ranks second suprime position , after the president.

The new survey conducted by Taloustutkimus collected answeres from 1005 respondents where most of the respondents were quite familiar with the name of Prime Minister Antti Rinne.

Interior Minister Maria Ohisalo was the only exception as one-third of the survey respondents were able to correctly identify her as the chair of Vihreä Liitto (Green Party).

The margin of error in the poll was three percentage points in either direction.
