11 more deaths, 857 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 3 days

The coronavirus death toll in Finland rose to 655, as 11 more patients died at different hospitals in the country in the last three days since Friday afternoon, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Monday.

Out of the deaths, 10 were reported in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) while the rest one was reported in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS).

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 42,772 as 857 new cases were diagnosed in the last three days.

Out of the infections, 419 were reported on Saturday, 246 on Sunday and 192 on Monday, said the THL.

So far 446 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 76 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 51 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District, 50 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS) and 32 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS).

A total of 131 coronavirus patients, including 21 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.

According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 772 per 100,000 people.

Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 26,000 samples a day.
