4 more die, 812 new coronavirus infections detected

The coronavirus death toll in Finland rose to 565, as four more patients have died at different hospitals in the country since Thursday, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Monday.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 36,919, as 812 new cases were diagnosed since the last update made on Thursday.

So far, a total of 386 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 69 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 41 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 39 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District, and 30 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS).

Until Monday, 29, 000 or more than 80% coronavirus-infected patients in Finland had recovered.

A total of 210 coronavirus patients, including 31 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.

According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 666 per 100,000 people. Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 26,000 samples a day.
