6 more deaths,1146 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 3 days

The coronavirus death toll in Finland increased to 399, as six more patients – three in Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), two in Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District and one in Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS)-died in the last three days since Friday afternoon, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Monday.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 24,912 as 1146 more cases were diagnosed in the last three days.

Out of the new cases, 541 infections were diagnosed on Saturday, 322 on Sunday and 283 on Monday, said the THL.

So far a total of 308 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 31 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 22 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 22 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS), and 16 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.

Until Monday, 16, 800 or more than 70% coronavirus-infected patients in Finland had recovered.

A total of 175 coronavirus patients, including 18 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.

According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 449 per 100,000 people.

Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 26,000 samples a day.
