18 infections, no death in 3 days

No coronavirus patient in ICU in Finland

A total of 23 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the country but, for the first time in more than last three months, there were no patient in any intensive care unit (ICU) on Monday, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus deaths in Finland remained unchanged at 328 as no new death had been reported in the country in three days since Friday last, said the THL on Monday.

The total number of coronavirus infections, however, increased to 7,209 as 18 more cases had been diagnosed on Friday to Monday.

So far, until Friday afternoon, a total of 271 people had died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 25 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 17 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 12 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS), and three in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.

More than 6,600 patients, or 90% of the total number of infected people, have recovered from the disease.

Currently, laboratories in the country are testing about 13,000 samples a day.

According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of cases is 130 per 100,000 people.
