The number of coronavirus infection cases in Finland has risen to 792, as 92 more cases were diagnosed on Tuesday in different areas of the country, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

THL said that 40 patients were receiving treatment in hospitals including 11 in intensive care.

Experts, however, fear that the total number of people infected with coronavirus in Finland is much higher than the official figure counted by the authorities concerned.

All the suspected cases are not being tested anymore. So the real number of infections is feared to be much higher. Only the seriously ill and risk-group people, such as social and healthcare workers, are being tested in the country now.

Earlier, THL confirmed that the first coronavirus death in the country took place on March 20.
