The number of coronavirus infection cases raised to 359 in Finland as 40 more cases were diagnosed at different parts of the country on Wednesday, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

Expert, however, feared that the number of total infected people with coronavirus seemed to be much higher in Finland than the official figure counted by the authority.

All the suspected cases are not being tested anymore, so the real number of infections is feared to be much higher. Only the seriously ill and risk group people such as social and healthcare workers are being tested in Finland now.

Meanwhile, the government has already announced various measures to contain the coronavirus.

All educational institutions remain closed till April 13 while all official events of the government and other private happenings were cancelled. It also imposed restrictions on travelling to and from Finland.

Public transport services have decided to trim their operating schedules from Wednesday following the reduced number of passengers triggered by the outbreak of coronavirus infection.

The European Union (EU) on Tuesday endorsed a temporary restriction on travels to the EU territory for 30 days in order to limit the spread of the COVID-19.
