British Prime Minister Theresa May is facing criticism over the control of knife crimes after recent deaths of youngsters.

The criticism came days after two 17-year-old youngsters were killed in separate knife attacks in the country.

May told Parliament on Wednesday that the deaths of the young people were "appalling" as she announced an upcoming summit on knife crime.

The Opposition Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn said May was not doing enough to tackle the root causes of knife crime.

The criticism was echoed as Lord Stevens, the former commissioner of the Met Police, blasted the prime minister's handling of crime and policing.

He told local media that she "hasn't listened to what's been going on and it's not good enough."
