Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on Tuesday said 30,000 Syrian refugees who have been granted Turkish citizenship will vote in Sunday's presidential and parliamentary elections.

"They have the right to vote," Yildirim was quoted by the Hurriyet daily as saying in Turkey's western province of Izmir.

"They are our guests and they will return to their country," the prime minister also noted.

The latest official data revealed that Turkey is hosting a total of 3.5 million Syrian refugees, nearly 2 million of them are over the age of 18.

All Turkish citizens over 18 have the right to vote in elections and referendums under the Turkish law.
