Police arrested a Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) employee suspected of being under the influence of alcohol while working after the plane landed Monday, Swedish public television news broadcaster SVT reported on Monday.

Cabin crew on the flight, suspecting that a colleague had been drinking alcohol, alerted the authorities.

"I can confirm that one of our employees was taken into custody by police at Arlanda," Fredrik Henriksson, a spokesperson for SAS, told SVT News.

It was after the flight from Hong Kong landed in Stockholm Monday afternoon that the SAS employee tested positive for alcohol in a breathalyser test.

"This is a case for the police but also for us. We take it very seriously and have a zero tolerance policy for alcohol 24 hours before flight," Henriksson said.
