Five new cases of COVID-19 infection have been confirmed in Sweden, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to seven, the country's Public Health Agency announced at a press conference Thursday evening.

Three individuals were infected during trips to Italy, Germany and Iran and two others were infected in Sweden after being in close contact with a man who was diagnosed Wednesday with COVID-19 following a trip to northern Italy.

Public Health Agency representatives said that Sweden will likely see more cases of individuals infected abroad.

However, Britta Bjorkholm, who is part of the Agency's management team, said at the press conference that "there has been no general spread in society, as far as we know at this point".
