Metropolia forced to shutdown Leppävaara Campus

The City of Espoo has asked Metropolia University of Applied Sciences to shut Leppävaara Campus due to the poor condition of the building housing the campus, said an official press release.

The City of Espoo has urged the campus to move its operations from the building located at Vanha maantie 6 street.

The institution said it has begun immediate planning of exploring options related to its study activities and other of its operations. The institution also said it was shifting its operations to a temporary location.

The Leppävaara campus building is owned by the City of Espoo and has about 3,000 students and 140 staff members.

The University was informed about the poor condition of the building by the City of Espoo on Thursday.
