A thrill awaits the people of Rovaniemi, particularly the children. For the first time, they will be getting an opportunity to see lookalikes of disparate kinds of dinosaurs that went extinct from the face of the earth millions of years ago.

Dino World that exhibits statues of these vanished reptile species will arrive in Rovaniemi on July 18 and continue to hold shows at the city’s Old Market till July 23, Dino World sources said.

“This is our first visit to Rovaniemi. So, we can’t guess the number of guests we're going to get. It has a lot to do with the weather, too,” Dino World Marketing Manager Karolina Eklund-Vuorela told the Daily Finland.

Dinosaurs are a somewhat timeless thing, remarked Eklund-Vuorela, adding that people will always be interested in them. “They fascinate children and adults alike, maybe because of their massive size and the fact that we never can really know what they were like and what happened to them,” said Eklund-Vuorela.

“In our show we have 35 dinosaur statues that move, make noises and some of them even breathe. There is also a live dino show where our visitors can meet a dinosaur mother and witness the birth of a baby T-Rex. The statues are made with care so as to look realistic and alive,” the marketing manager added.

Dino World started its cross-country tour in April that will continue till the end of September. “We also travelled across Finland last year. This year we are focusing on places we didn’t get a chance to visit last year,” said Eklund-Vuorela, adding, “We will be visiting 25 to 30 places altogether.”

The show will take place in a huge tent. There will also be an outdoor exhibition area where there will be a souvenir shop, bouncy castles, and slideshows of various sizes, among other things.

The show will remain open from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM during the weekdays and from 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM during the weekend.

A ticket will cost 15 euros for an adult and 10 euros for a child of four to 14 as well as a pensioner. Children aged less than four coming with the adults will be admitted free of charge. There will also be no entry fee for the escorts of people with disability.
