Wages and salaries grow by 3.7% in Dec-Feb

The wages and salaries sum of the whole economy was 3.7 per cent greater in the December to February period than in the corresponding period twelve months earlier, according to Statistics Finland.

In February, the wages and salaries sum of the whole economy grew by 4.1 per cent from the year before.

One year previously in December to February, the wages and salaries sum of the whole economy increased by 2.4 per cent.

In December to February, the wages and salaries sum grew fastest in construction, where the growth amounted to 7.8 per cent from one year ago.

The wages and salaries sums of other services (6.6%), manufacturing (3.3%), trade (2.5%), private health and social work (2.3%) were also growing. The wage and salary sum of private education was the same as previous year (0.0%).

The wages and salaries sum of financial intermediation (-0.8%) decreased compared to the corresponding period of one year ago.
