Retail sales grow by 2.7% in Sept

Retail trade sales increased by 2.7 per cent in September this year compared to the September 2016, according to the Statistics Finland.

The volume of retail trade sales, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, went up by the same amount. In daily consumer goods trade, sales increased by 2.5 per cent and the sales volume by 2.4 per cent in September from the corresponding period of the previous year.

The reported annual changes in trade sales and sales volumes are not seasonally or trading day adjusted, which means that the effects of public holidays are not considered.

According to the Structural business and financial statement statistics, daily consumer goods accounted for 49.6 per cent of turnover in retail trade in 2015.
