Wages, salaries grow by 3.1% in Sept-Nov

The wages and salaries sum of the whole economy was 3.1 per cent greater in the September to November period than in the corresponding period twelve months earlier, according to Statistics Finland.

In November, the wages and salaries sum of the whole economy grew by 2.3 per cent from the year before.

One year previously in September to November, the wages and salaries sum of the whole economy increased by 4.4 per cent.

The wages and salaries sum grew in all main industries in September to November.

The growth in the wages and salaries sum was fastest in the industries of private health and social work (7.2%), other services (4.0%), financial intermediation (3.1%), manufacturing (2.7%) and trade (2.3%).

The rising of the wages and salaries sum was most moderate in the industries of private education (1.8%) and construction (0.8%).

In September to November, the wages and salaries sum in the private sector was 3.6 per cent higher than in the previous year.
